Brigitte Mars

Brigitte Mars is an herbalist and nutritional consultant with over fifty years of experience. She has taught Herbal Medicine at Naropa University for over forty years. She has taught at Omega Institute, Esalen, Kripalu, Sivananda Yoga Ashram, Arise, Tribal Visions, Envision, Burning Man and Unify Festivals, as well as The Mayo Clinic. She is a founding and professional member of the American Herbalist Guild. She has a private practice, leads herb walks to identify edible and medicinal plants worldwide and has a weekly radio show called Naturally. She is also a psychedelic sitter and end-of-life doula.


Brigitte is the author of many books including: The Natural First Aid Handbook, Natural Remedies for Mental and Emotional Health, Dandelion Medicine, Nettle Power, The Country Almanac of Home Remedies, The Desktop Guide to Herbal Medicine, Beauty by Nature, Addiction Free Naturally, The Sexual Herbal, Healing Herbal Teas, Rawsome! and co-author of The HempNut Cookbook. Her latest project is a phone app called IPlant. Brigitte is also featured in Gaia TV’s series, Psychedelica Science, as has recorded shows with The Shift Network and Sacred Science.

Keynote - Mugwort: 1 hour

Mugwort has long been associated with ritual and the burning  of mugwort helps send one’s prayers and intentions heavenward  to receive wisdom and assist in shamanic travel and a safe return.  This herb is easy to see in the moonlight and has long been considered an herb of divination, protection and  ally to women.


Herb Walk: 1.5 hour, Adults, All Levels
Learn to identify local plants for their edible and medicinal properties.


Sacred Use of Psychedelics: 1.5 hour, Adults, All Levels
Learn about the heritage, physiological effects and how to create safe set and setting for a psychedelic ceremony. We will discuss peyote, San Pedro, Psilocybin, Ayahuasca, Amanita as well as the origins of LSD and MDMA. We will also discuss helpful ways to integrate the experience into daily life. 


Dying with More Grace and Ease: 1.5 hour, Adults, All Levels
Learn about planning ahead, Advanced Directives, green burials and things to plan ahead of time, so the end of life goes more smoothly.


Kids Herb Walk: 30 minutes, Kids
Learn to identify common plants for their edible and medicinal properties.


Wise Woman Panel: 1 hour

Join our amazing Wise Women teachers (Brigitte Mars, EagleSong Gardener, Ellen Evert Hopman, and Mary Lou Singleton) as they answer and discuss questions from the audience. There will be a box at Registration/the Info Booth for those women who would prefer the Red Earth team to ask their questions for them.
