Food and Nourishment

By Jenna Barnes, Parakalo Provisions

The joyful hummingbird sipping nectar.

The purposeful bees rolling in pleasure in the pollen.

The connection of the aspen trees rooting to gather richness from the soil to rise stronger.

These are a few of the inspirations for the edible delights we will create and serve this year for the gathering of kindred spirits. Salads that are bursting with prana, having just been pulled from earth, still tasting of summer sunshine. Deeply nourishing sipping broths in the morning to shake off the cool night and awaken to a new day. Deeply nourishing soups that are like mama's around the world make to show their love. Plus some sweet + decadent surprises to balance out the meal. Rainbows of supportive herbs will dance with all of the dishes. And flowers! Always edible flowers.

We are SO excited to break bread with you and nourish this event. In these times, food as a ritual is needed. We invite you to join us: taste this land and feel the love.

Jenna will also be preparing amazing teas and herbal infusions! Bring your 2025 Red Earth mug and enjoy our infusions and teas of the day!

Tea and Infusion

Enliven your senses and nourish your body and soul with herbal infusions, and herb-enhanced true teas throughout the gathering. Bring your favorite Red Earth mug and enjoy our teas of the day!

Throughout the day, we will provide you with delightful beverages to keep your body nourished, centered, and nurtured. Each morning we will have warm herbal infusions, tisanes, and true tea. Throughout the day these infusions, tisanes, and teas will be replenished for your enjoyment and nourishment. A cold option will be included at all times to help you beat the heat.

Our herbal tisanes are formulated specifically for Red Earth each year, and are blended with our theme in mind. The teas are mindfully formulated to be safe and gentle for women in all stages of life. This year these will be handmade with love and intention by Amma, of Rooted in Love, and kept stocked throughout the day and evening by our amazing Tea Lounge helpers.

Tess Bennett

Tessa is a certified herbalist, forager, and naturalist based in Jackson, Wyoming. Rooted in relationship with the land, her herbal practice is guided by sensory awareness, ecological respect, and a deep reverence for wild places. She shares plant wisdom through guided hikes and immersive experiences in and around the Teton Range, inviting participants to slow down, listen, and engage with plants through smell, taste, and touch.

Since moving to Jackson in 2019, Tessa has woven together environmental education and herbalism, beginning with teaching local youth about native plants and ecosystems. Her work has expanded to include leading multi-day youth backpacking trips and co-leading women’s wellness retreats in the wilderness areas of Yellowstone National Park, where plant connection is an essential part of the journey. After earning her Herbalist Certification from Green Path Herbal in 2024, Tessa began crafting small-batch tea blends and tinctures using locally abundant mountain herbs. Her approach emphasizes ethical foraging, seasonal awareness, and cultivating a personal relationship with plants rather than extraction.

For Tessa, herbalism is a living practice rooted in place. She finds deep joy in sharing the magic of wild plants and helping others reconnect with their own intuitive relationship to the natural world.
