Ginger Janssen

Ginger Janssen is a mother, plant lover, homesteader, designer, bee guardian, and herbalist rooted on Basalt Mountain. For more than 30 years, she has tended food, flowers, medicine, springs, and soil - growing most of the herbs she works with and crafting hydrosols, teas, elixirs, and honey medicines from the living landscape. She and her family steward an off-grid hydro-solar homestead with chickens, bees, orchards, and a year-round greenhouse where tropical and medicinal plants thrive beside a wide apothecary of mountain herbs. As co-owner of Basalt Mountain Gardens, she consults, designs and co-creates therapeutic gardens and whole living systems, including the Peace Garden at True Nature Healing Arts in downtown Carbondale. She is also the visionary behind Seven Springs Conservancy, offering plant-centered workshops, tours, and community gatherings that inspire others to cultivate healing land-based systems.
